For too long, continuous labor support was a privilege reserved for families who could pay out of pocket. California's Medi-Cal doula benefit is changing that, and I'm proud to be part of making birth support accessible to more families across Orange County.

Coverage questions
Insurance & Medi-Cal, answered
Yes. As of 2023, doula care is a covered Medi-Cal benefit in California. Eligible members can receive prenatal visits, continuous labor support, and postpartum visits at no cost. I'll walk you through confirming your eligibility.
The benefit typically covers an initial visit, several prenatal and postpartum visits, and support during labor and birth (including for a miscarriage or abortion). We'll map your visits to what your plan allows.
Often, yes. A growing number of commercial plans reimburse doula care, sometimes through your HSA/FSA or via superbill reimbursement. I can provide the documentation you need to submit a claim.
You still have options. I offer self-pay packages and will always be transparent about cost up front. Cost should never be the reason a family goes without support.
Birth photography is a separate, self-pay service and isn't billed to insurance. Many families combine covered doula care with a photography add-on so the day is both supported and remembered.
